LEAD Technologies Inc. V1.01FROM PAQUIMÉ TO HIGH TECH… AND BACK.

We would like to take the opportunity to participate at“The Second Annual Conference of the Adobe Association of the Southwest”, because we foresee an excellent chance to present our design philosophy at the conceptual, artistic and architectural production stages, as well as our work, to people who share our interest in sustainability.

Our work vision is based on innovation, searching for spaces and opportunities to overcome long term established paradigms, based on serious scientific research and having as a priority  green building; establishing a deep relationship with the end user, at the time that we recover an old millenarian building system and traditions in order to achieve a holistic design solution.

This process has taken us back to our past and as a result, to the use of this noble and abundant material: earth, which is once again calling designers’ attention in a green building environment, but most of all, through its kindness and beauty.

In this presentation, we will take a brief but interesting walk through The Paquime Archeological Zone, in the state of Chihuahua, Mex. which belonged to the Mogollon or Gran Chichimeca region (Sonora, Chihuahua, Arizona and New Mexico) and take a look at their construction systems, multistoried buildings, etc.  We will also make a short stop to see some of the local (Cd. Juarez, Chih.– El Paso, Tx) incongruous proposals we have given to the design problems of our present day habitat.

These will serve as a reference background on which we will present a couple of our last projects, where we look to rescue some of the old systems and architectural intentions and elements, at the same time that we integrate state of the art concepts on green building, passive systems and modern world demands.
